Renal vascular response to salt restriction in normal man. Evidence against adrenergic mediation.

چکیده
The role of the sympathetic nervous system in the renal vasoconstriction induced by sodium restriction has been assessed in normal man in balance on a 10-mEq sodium intake. Renal blood flow was measured with radioxenon injected into the renal artery. Phentolamine infused into the renal artery at rates of up to 3 mg/min did not increase net renal perfusion or alter its intrarenal pattern. That dose of phentolamine

Reciprocal influence of salt intake on adrenal glomerulosa and renal vascular responses to angiotensin II in normal man.
The adrenal glomerulosa cell and the renal vasculature respond to similar arterial angiotensin II (A II) levels. We have assessed the effect of decreased sodium intake on their responses to A II in man. Studies were performed in 42 normal subjects in balance on a daily intake of 100 meq potassium and either 200 or 10 meq sodium/day. Renal blood flow was measured with (133)Xe and arterial A II, ...

The influence of barbiturate anesthesia on renal blood flow was assessed by the xenon washout method in trained dogs with catheters chronically implanted in the renal artery. Anesthesia induced with either thiopental sodium or pentobarbital sodium resulted in a striking reduction in renal blood flow (4.1 +/- 0.1 vs. 2.6 +/- 0.2 ml/g per min; P less than 0.001) without a change in arterial press...
متن کاملThe Role of Adrenergic and Angiotensinergic Systems in Vascular Effect Of Alcoholic of Extract Trigonella foenum-graecum Seed In Diabetic Rats
Considering the anti-diabetic potential of Trigonella foenum-graecum (TFG) and its beneficial effect on aortic reactivity of diabetic rats, this study was conducted to evaluate the effect of its alcoholic seed extract on aortic reactivity and also figure out mechanisms including the role of adrenergic and angiotensinergic systems in streptozotocin-diabetic rats. Male Wistar rats were divided in...

The mechanisms responsible for the increase in blood pressure response to high salt intake in salt-sensitive patients with essential hypertension are complex and only partially understood. A complex interaction between neuroendocrine factors and the kidney may underlie the propensity for such patients to retain salt and develop salt-dependent hypertension. The possible role of vasodilator and n...
